The most recent project was handed over on November 22, 2025, in Cuc village of Ia O commune. Implemented by the Provincial Youth Union in partnership with the Vietnam Volunteer Resource Information Center and Sacombank, the 500-meter system includes 25 solar-powered lamps.
Each pole bears the national flag and a sign reading “I Love My Homeland,” highlighting local pride and the symbolic commitment to national sovereignty.
Local youth contributed labor for installation and will continue maintaining the lights, said Ia O Commune Youth Union Secretary Ksor Cường, who added that youth teams also plan to plant more trees to improve the landscape. Village authorities have urged residents to help protect the system and plant flowers along the roadside.
Cuc village Party Cell Secretary Puih Lư said the lighting has encouraged residents to move about more confidently at night, overcoming long-standing fears due to dark roads.
A similar project in Klăh village of Ia Mơ commune has also transformed daily life since its installation began in August 2025. Implemented by the commune’s Youth Union and Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, the lighting now supports security and everyday activities for the village’s 203 households, including 26 poor and 37 near-poor families.
Ia Mơ Commune Youth Union Secretary R’Ô H’Neo said another installation was completed in Khôn village in 2025, praising partner organizations for their support and expressing hope for more projects in ethnic minority communities.
In Beng village of Ia Chia commune, a 750-meter line of 25 solar streetlights—installed by the National Volunteer Center, the Provincial Youth Union–Vietnam Youth Federation, and Sacombank—has brought similar benefits. Resident Puih Xếp said night travel has been much safer since the lights went up in June 2025.
According to Đỗ Đức Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and President of the provincial Vietnam Youth Federation, eight lighting projects were completed across seven border communes in 2025. He said the initiatives help strengthen community bonds, improve rural infrastructure, and reinforce young people’s commitment to protecting national sovereignty.
