Held under the theme “Preserving and Promoting the Cultural Identity of the Cham Ethnic Group in the New Era,” the festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa Province. Main activities will take place at 16-4 Square in Dong Hai Ward and other venues across the province.
The event will feature participation from Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, An Giang, Tay Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City, all home to significant Cham communities.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on June 26 at 16-4 Square and will be broadcast live on VTV8, alongside media platforms operated by participating provinces’ and cities’ press, radio and television agencies. The closing ceremony will take place at the same venue at 8:00 p.m. on June 28 and will be broadcast live on KTV.
Festival activities will showcase distinctive aspects of Cham culture through traditional festivals and ritual presentations, a public art festival, ethnic costume performances, traditional handicraft demonstrations, cultural exhibitions and folk sports competitions. Organizers will also introduce local tourism products, OCOP items and regional cuisine.
Additional events include a seminar on preserving and promoting the value of Cham cultural heritage in Khanh Hoa in connection with sustainable tourism development, a thematic exhibition highlighting the distinctive features of Cham culture within Vietnam’s broader cultural community, a multimedia art installation space and community tourism promotion activities.
Organizers said the festival aims to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the Cham people, strengthen cultural exchanges among participating localities and highlight the cultural identity, people and tourism potential of Khanh Hoa as well as other areas with Cham communities.
