The contest, organized by the provincial Department of Education and Training, aims to promote English learning among general education students and enhance the quality of foreign language teaching and usage in local schools.
The preliminary round was held simultaneously at seven locations: Le Hong Phong Secondary School (Quy Nhon Ward), Hoai Thanh Tay Secondary School (Hoai Nhon Ward), Vo Xan Secondary School (Tay Son Commune), Pham Hong Thai Secondary School (Pleiku Ward), Nguyen Khuyen Secondary School (Chu Se Commune), De Tham Secondary School (An Khe Ward), and Nguyen Hue Secondary School (Ayun Pa Ward).
Contestants, including students enrolled in the 2025–2026 academic year, completed paper-based tests evaluating listening, reading, and writing skills, aligned with Vietnam’s six-level foreign language proficiency framework: Level 1 for primary, Level 2 for lower secondary, and Level 3 for upper secondary students.
Before the tests, participants reviewed exam regulations and joined English communication activities with foreign teachers to practice speaking, though these exercises were not officially graded.
The “English talent” competition serves as part of the National Foreign Language Project (2017–2025), seeking to foster a dynamic English-learning environment, identify outstanding language students, and nurture communication skills for global integration.
The semi-final round is set for November 23 in Quy Nhon and Pleiku wards, followed by the final round in early December 2025 in Quy Nhon Ward.
