Most recently, the unit held a groundbreaking ceremony in Ia Dom commune for a traditional communal house, or nhà rông, a long-anticipated project aimed at creating a shared cultural space for local residents.
The project carries an investment of about 3 billion VND (approximately USD 120,000) and is expected to reinforce cultural identity and community cohesion.
The Ia Dom project is one of nine communal houses directed by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, with Corps 15 coordinating implementation in Gia Lai and Quang Ngai provinces.
Total investment for the nine projects stands at around 20 billion VND (about USD 800,000). Construction follows a three-stage process, design appraisal, construction, and final inspection, to ensure durability while preserving ethnic cultural features.
Local officials described the initiative as a practical demonstration of military support for cultural life in border areas. Once completed, the communal house is expected to serve as a focal point for preserving traditions, strengthening village solidarity and contributing to security and social order.
Beyond cultural infrastructure, Corps 15 has worked with local Party committees and authorities to promote traditional values through public awareness campaigns, support for communal houses and community centers, and efforts to preserve gong culture spaces and revive traditional festivals.
Since 2024, the Corps has completed similar projects in several communes, providing modernized village spaces that also function as cultural gathering points.
The unit has also expanded livelihood support through crop and livestock assistance, production guidance, housing for disadvantaged households, free medical check-ups, and aid for policy beneficiary families and underprivileged students.
According to Corps 15 leadership, economic models tailored to local conditions, such as cattle and goat farming, rubber and rice cultivation, have helped stabilize incomes and promote sustainable development.
Education remains a priority, with investments in preschools and boarding facilities improving learning conditions for hundreds of children in remote areas.
In 2025 alone, Corps 15 units mobilized more than 36,000 workdays to support rural development, provided seeds and materials worth over 8.6 billion VND (about USD 344,000), and lent nearly 1,300 hectares of land for crop cultivation.
Infrastructure spending included 45.3 billion VND (around USD 1.81 million) for road repairs and construction, 3.5 billion VND (about USD 140,000) for community bridges, and 4.15 billion VND (approximately USD 166,000) for clean water projects.
Corps 15 commanders said the recognition of the unit, including receiving the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces for a second time, reflects the commitment of its officers and soldiers to national defense while supporting sustainable development alongside local communities.
