The 2026 Gia Lai Excellent Reporters and Propagandists Contest brought together the province's top grassroots spokespersons and propagandists, providing a platform to strengthen public communication skills, exchange professional experience and promote effective implementation of Party policies.

Held over one day, the competition featured 20 finalists selected from 133 preliminary entries submitted by localities, agencies and units across the province.

Organisers described the event as an important political activity that enabled grassroots officials to enhance their presentation skills while demonstrating their professional competence and political understanding.

Many presentations examined major policy directions by comparing theoretical perspectives with practical implementation.

Popular topics included cadre development, aspirations for a prosperous and happy nation, strategic autonomy, the "Era of National Advancement" and promoting cultural strength. Contestants also discussed challenges encountered in implementing policies within their respective organisations and proposed practical solutions.

In the five-minute question-and-answer session, many participants displayed a strong understanding of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, resolutions adopted at Party congresses at various levels and the practical realities of their own units.

Among the contestants, Trần Thị Ngọc Hà, Head of the Party Building Committee of the Lơ Pang Commune Party Committee, impressed judges with her presentation on building a capable and ethical cadre workforce to meet the goals of the 14th National Party Congress.

Drawing on her experience in Party-building work and previous service in a district Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Hà said the competition had provided valuable opportunities to improve her communication skills and learn from fellow participants.

"I have gained valuable knowledge from both the presentations and the communication skills demonstrated by other contestants, which I can apply directly to my own work", she said.

The first prize was awarded to Senior Lieutenant Nguyễn Ngọc Phương Thảo, an officer at Kbang Commune Police, for her presentation, "Innovating Digital Security Thinking, Building a Professional and Modern People's Public Security Force in the Era of National Advancement".

Thảo supported her presentation with examples drawn from her daily policing duties and said she had devoted significant time to studying Party resolutions while improving her presentation and public speaking skills.

"The competition helped me recognise areas where I still need to improve so I can better fulfil my communication responsibilities in the future," she said.

Contestant Huỳnh Thị Tuyết, Deputy Chief of the Office of the People's Council and People's Committee of Hoài Nhơn Đông Ward, described the event as a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience for grassroots communication work.

Presenting on promoting Vietnamese cultural values in the new era, Tuyết said she would continue to strengthen communication efforts, promote positive cultural values and actively counter false and harmful information online.

The competition highlighted the role of grassroots spokespersons and propagandists as a key force in communicating Party policies and resolutions to local communities, helping ensure timely, accurate and effective dissemination.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyễn Thị Phong Vũ, a member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilisation Department and Head of the Organising Committee, said oral communication remained one of the most direct and persuasive methods of building public understanding and confidence.

She said the contest created opportunities for spokespersons and propagandists to exchange experience, improve professional skills and further enhance the quality of grassroots communication across the province.

The organising committee awarded one first prize, three second prizes, five third prizes and 11 consolation prizes. Organisers said the competition had not only recognised outstanding performances but also strengthened the knowledge, confidence and practical skills of grassroots communicators as they continue promoting Party policies and fostering public consensus throughout the province.
