Communes and wards across Gia Lai province have simultaneously launched a range of practical activities to improve the local environment, creating a bright, green, clean, and beautiful landscape to ensure residents can celebrate the Lunar New Year in a safe and healthy manner.

From the end of January 2026, many localities have simultaneously launched large-scale environmental sanitation campaigns, creating an enthusiastic and competitive atmosphere in the lead-up to Tet Nguyen Dan (Lunar New Year).

These activities focus on cleaning government offices, schools, and cultural centers; sweeping streets and public areas; eliminating illegal dumping sites and unauthorized advertisements; as well as sprucing up greenery, flower beds, and lighting systems. These efforts contribute to improving living environments and raising public awareness about maintaining urban and residential landscapes.

In Binh Dinh Ward, the People’s Committee has coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and other socio-political organizations to launch a comprehensive environmental sanitation campaign from January 26 to February 13, mobilizing the concerted efforts of the entire political system and all segments of the population.

Le Vu Van Kieu, Deputy Secretary of the Binh Dinh Ward Party Committee, affirmed: “Launching a comprehensive environmental sanitation campaign during Tet is a regular activity, but it must be organized methodically, simultaneously, and substantively to gradually foster a culture of urban civility”.

Many localities have linked sanitation movements with urban beautification, creating visual highlights. In Quy Nhon Dong Ward, Party and national flags have been replaced and displayed with respect; flower-lined streets and flag avenues have been established alongside the installation of lighting systems and decorative LED lights, creating a fresh and festive atmosphere to welcome the spring.

The sanitation and urban beautification movement has received strong support from the public. Do Thi Lieu, a resident of Ly Chanh neighborhood in Quy Nhon Dong Ward, shared: “Clean and beautiful streets make Tet more joyful. People clearly see the benefits, so they voluntarily tidy up in front of their homes and refrain from littering”.

On Nhon Chau island commune, comprehensive cleanups are being organized simultaneously in the three hamlets of Tay, Trung, and Dong, focusing on cleaning the cultural-sports center, resettlement areas, drainage systems, coastal roads, beaches, and wave-breaking embankments. These efforts help build the image of a green, clean, and beautiful island commune for the traditional New Year.

In the days leading up to Tet Nguyen Dan 2026, the atmosphere of urban beautification in the western region of the province has been lively and urgent. From main roads to residential areas and public spaces, the sight of functional forces and sanitation workers diligently at work has contributed to making the urban landscape increasingly bright, green, clean, and beautiful, ready to welcome the new spring.

To implement the urban beautification plan before, during, and after Tet, Gia Lai Urban Works Joint Stock Company has proactively developed specific plans, allocated personnel and equipment, and increased work shifts across seven communes and wards: Pleiku, Dien Hong, Hoi Phu, An Phu, Thong Nhat, Bien Ho, and Gao.

The collection and transportation of household waste has been identified as a key task, especially in densely populated residential areas, markets, commercial centers, and main roads.

According to Le Ba Quoc Thang, Standing Deputy Director of Gia Lai Urban Works Joint Stock Company, during the peak days before Tet, the company flexibly adjusts garbage collection times, switching to daytime collection from the 27th to the 29th of the lunar month to minimize waste accumulation.

Immediately after New Year’s Eve, workers continue to collect and clean up at Dai Doan Ket Square and surrounding streets, completing the work before the morning of the first day of Tet to ensure a clean and beautiful space for people to enjoy the spring festivities.

Alongside environmental sanitation, the maintenance of greenery, parks, medians, and traffic islands is being carried out in a coordinated manner. Tens of thousands of trees have been whitewashed and neatly pruned; lawns, flower beds, and mini-landscapes are regularly tended.

Many main roads and central roundabouts are decorated with ornamental flowers and mini-landscapes, creating vibrant highlights and spreading the festive spirit of “Celebrating the Party - Welcoming Spring” throughout the city.

In Pleiku Ward, local authorities have proactively coordinated to organize comprehensive environmental sanitation and landscape beautification across the area. Traffic islands have been repainted, trees pruned, and decoration and communication efforts at Dai Doan Ket Square and other public spaces have been emphasized, adding further cultural highlights to the urban landscape.

According to Dang Toan Thang, Chairman of the Pleiku Ward People’s Committee, urban beautification during Tet not only enhances the city’s appearance but also improves the spiritual quality of life for residents, aiming to build a civilized and livable city.
