The announcement was made at the second conference on military and public security recruitment for 2026, held on October 17 by the Provincial Military Service Council.
The event, chaired by Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, was conducted both in-person and online, connecting 135 communes and wards.

The screening process verifies candidates’ political background, moral character, and family circumstances to ensure fairness, transparency, and compliance with legal standards.
Localities have prioritized identifying qualified sources and classifying citizens according to political and health criteria.

In Chu Se Commune, officials reported that 1,403 young people were eligible for military service, with 708 passing preliminary health checks.
“The process has ensured transparency, democracy, and fairness, laying the groundwork for successful recruitment,” said Tran Minh Trieu, Chairman of the Chu Se Commune People’s Committee.
An Phu Ward reported strong volunteer participation, with 69 young people signing up for service.
CHAIRMAN OF THE PROVINCIAL PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE PHAM ANH TUAN: “Focus on selecting young people with good health, clear political backgrounds, and qualifications; absolutely do not allow individuals who do not meet political or ethical standards to enter the military.”
“We have issued preliminary health examination notices to 435 eligible individuals, creating favorable conditions to meet our 2026 targets,” said Hoang Thi Minh Binh, Chairwoman of the ward’s People’s Committee.
Huynh Phuong Nam, Commander of Quy Nhon Nam Ward, noted that political and policy screening has been conducted transparently and fairly, with postponement or exemption cases reviewed according to regulations.
This year, many youths have voluntarily registered for service out of pride and a sense of duty. Le Quoc Quan, born in 2006 in Tuy Phuoc Bac Commune, shared: “Fulfilling military service is every young person’s responsibility to the nation. It will help me grow and gain valuable life experiences.”

According to the Provincial Military Command, communes and wards have completed political and policy screenings in line with regulations.
Out of nearly 145,300 citizens of conscription age, 84,440 meet military service criteria. The total number of registered citizens of conscription age stands at 142,020, representing 4.3% of the population.

However, some localities have reported errors in data management, such as missing eligible individuals or unclear exemption justifications. These issues highlight the need for more rigorous screening at the grassroots level.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that all levels of the Military Service Council have developed comprehensive plans following the principle of “selecting the right people” and adhering to the Law on Military Service.

He instructed localities to strengthen public awareness of military service laws among young people, ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities. The Department of Finance was tasked with providing adequate funding, while the Department of Health will supervise medical examinations.
The Provincial Military Command will continue guiding and monitoring implementation to guarantee flexibility, compliance, and achievement of 100% of the 2026 recruitment target with assured quality.
