According to Hồ Nguyên Sĩ, Director of the province’s irrigation works exploitation company Limited, the transition will take effect once the road linking Hiep Hung Hamlet (Canh Vinh Commune) and Canh Tien Village is completed, expected by October 2025.

The move comes alongside the scheduled March 2025 opening of a road connecting National Highways 19 and 19B through the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park, aimed at improving transport and trade for residents of Canh Vinh Commune and neighboring areas.
Nui Mot Lake was built in 1978 and upgraded in 2000 and 2012. It has a capacity of 110 million cubic meters, providing irrigation for 2,800 hectares of farmland, as well as water for domestic, industrial, and aquaculture use. The facility features an earth dam 32.5 meters high, classified as a large dam that must be strictly protected under the law.

Local authorities have been tasked with informing residents, installing prohibition signs, and erecting barriers to prevent unauthorized lake traffic.
At the same time, provincial departments are studying a proposal to convert the Nhon Tan - Canh Tien inland waterway into a designated tourism route under Binh Dinh’s 2021-2030 planning framework, with a vision to 2050.
Canh Tien Village, home to about 450 residents, has long relied on boats, canoes, and seasonal trails to connect with surrounding areas due to the lack of road access.
