Adopted under Decision No. 100/QĐ-TTg dated January 19, 2019, the project has driven extensive cooperation between the Department and local authorities, departments, and sectors.
Officials reported a marked increase in awareness among regulatory bodies, businesses, and the wider community regarding the importance of product traceability. Greater transparency in product information has supported consumer protection and improved management efficiency.
During the 2020–2025 period, the Department assisted one enterprise, three cooperatives, and 17 OCOP entities in Gia Lai (former administrative boundaries) in implementing traceability systems aligned with national standards.
It also supported 19 organizations, businesses, and cooperatives in Bình Định (former administrative boundaries) in developing traceability systems for 14 groups of agricultural products.
The Department provided consultancy services for internal standards development and product labeling across multiple agricultural production facilities. Under the National Target Program on New Rural Development, it guided 44 agricultural supply chains in 38 communes and wards in adopting national-standard traceability systems and supported five units in preparing GS1 barcode registration dossiers.
In parallel, the Department evaluated and guided VietGAP certification for 25 organizations and businesses, covering more than 254 hectares of vegetables, tubers, and fruits.
Delegates at the workshop emphasized that integrating traceability with e-commerce is an inevitable trajectory that will help strengthen brand value and competitiveness.
Looking ahead to 2026–2030, Gia Lai aims to further refine mechanisms, expand enterprise support for traceability application, and accelerate technological transformation to advance the province’s socio-economic development.
